Jean Junkala Art
Jean Junkala artwork — woven pastel threads

Artist

Jean Junkala

Jean Junkala is a Canadian artist whose practice centres on a distinctive weaving-threads-of-pastels technique — layering colour to achieve an optical color mix with a textile sensibility that dissolves the boundary between drawing and fabric.

Born in Ohio, she received formal training at Wright State University and the Baum School of Art in Pennsylvania before establishing her studio practice in Gatineau, Quebec.
